Artistellar is excited to present new series of Fresh Talent shows ! Fresh Talent shows are quarterly online exhibitions showcasing freshly spotted talents. Each season we bring you a curated selection of newly discovered or underrepresented artists that we strongly believe in.
For this fall we have selected four women artists from four different countries: Gala Bell , Leila Lallali, Rachel Morrissey and Anna Kostritskaya.
Although their styles and techniques differ, from abstract to figurative, or blurring lines between both, we believe they all four have strong artistic voices that convey a message that can resonate with us.
Gala Bell is a multidisciplinary artist based in London. The alchemy of matter is at the centre of her practice, moving between traditional painting and contemporary art forms. She brings three oil paintings on silk in gestural abstraction to the show. Her unique method is all about the play of light and liquid.
Leila Lallali is a self-taught artist from Luxembourg, currently living and working in Berlin. Leila’s work is inspired by travels, may they be real or imaginary. Her paintings are playful and rich in colour and her practice likes to oscillate between the figurative and the abstract, the undefined.
Rachel Morrissey is an American artist currently living and working in Medfield, Massachusetts. Rachel Morrissey’s narrative paintings give form and context to an invisible struggle with mental health, motherhood, fertility, pregnancy, and daily life.
Anna Kostritskaya is a Ukrainian artist currently living and working in London.
Her abstract paintings in the show are distinguished by clarity and painterly logic, with obvious colour correlations, proportion, and colour harmony balance.
