Laust Højgaard is a Danish artist living and working in Svendborg, Denmark. His art education is not traditional but rather a mix of several visual practices; he studied graphic design and classical drawing at Design Academy Odense, The Drawing Academy (KD), and has a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication. Højgaard paints humorous male figures in their dreamy habitats settings, such as racers, fighters, rock stars, or athletes: “ I like to think that I portray dreamy conflicted outsiders and that their personality is reflected in the way I’m painting them."
Working primarily with acrylics, Højgaard builds up a layer-like effect that creates depth and intriguing details, such as shoes and jewels worn by his characters
