Navot Miller is an Israeli artist whose work primarily explores intimate interactions and the queer aspects of ordinary encounters. Miller alleviates this ordinariness by cloaking it in the most vivid of colours and playing with multi-layered symmetry. The depth of the painting stems from the juxtaposition of coloured planes (table, walls, ground) and precise lines (ceiling, trees, poster). Moreover, the contrasting shapes and colours help to accentuate the figure leaning against a wall. Through this playful visual language, Miller can tackle more sensitive topics, such as religion and sexuality.
