This intimate portrait uses warm fiery colours to evoke an organic connection between humanity and nature. The red-hot hair falls loosely over the figure’s shoulder, and it almost blends with the orange clouds in the background. The scaling of this portrait emphasizes the dominancy of the figure over the sky yet stresses their unity. The element of fire is also imprinted in the harsh gaze of the woman, intensified by prominent cheekbones and frowning eyebrows. In contrast to all the warm tones, the figure is dressed in a pale blue shirt, which brings a pinch of softness to the fiery scene. Through her art, Tejada typically explores the relationship between natural elements and humanity. This artwork also deals with the desperate need for awakening as Tejada believes that women are more and more connected with this spiritual path.
