A very prominent cloud of smoke fumes up from a cigarette, held by a pair of glove-like hands that overbear a teacup in the lower-middle part of the composition. As one hand stirs in contemplation of the surrounding stormy environment as thunders and distant clouds take over the landscape in the background, the other notes the tone of this obscure moment as the figure disappears in her cloudy thoughts. The figure takes over the largest part of the composition, hinting at a Pythian atmosphere of fortune-telling. Her eyes slightly appear through the fumes, indirectly looking at the spectator while trying to read their future endeavors through and after the storm. In the background, hope arises through the sudden moonlight that seems to discreetly appear on the surface of the sea, as in the distance, the clouds clear out, aiming to symbolize hopes for a better tomorrow.
